From the 1988 Schreiner's Iris Lover's Catalog: Named to honor the University of Idaho's centennial celebration, Vandal Spirit offers a variegata of rich yet subdued coloration. Note the dusky tonal qualities: the domed standards are a muted old gold while the falls are a deep red-black. As an added bonus, two to three stems will often start from a common base, each bearing 7-8 buds. The result — an absolute bounty of blooms.
