INTERESTING INFO: From the 1966 Schreiner's Iris Lover's Catalog: This brilliant, vibrant yellow with boldly brushed strokes of desert brown is unique and striking. Inheriting its excellent form and height from Olympic Torch and its novel markings from Hindu Wand, it gives us a yellow with markings that has long been needed in the garden picture. This excellent new iris is a vigorous grower, well branched, free flowering, averaging about twelve blooms per stem. From a distance it looks as if a veritable group of uniquely patterned butterflies had alighted on an iris stem.
