From the 2011 Schreiner's Iris Lover's Catalog: We are happy to introduce this step forward in our efforts to breed distinct blue hybrids. A smooth hyssop blue-violet color gives sparkling luster to this self colored Iris. Its rounded flaring petals have serrated edges. Bright caterpillar-like orange beards are the focal point of this quintessential beauty. Each stem unfurls 6 to 7 buds on two branches and a spur.
