INTERESTING INFO: From the 1939 René Cayeux Iris Catalog: A most remarkable firm strong grower of the tallest type with large massive flowers of perfect shape. S. coppery red with a lighter golden sheen at base. F. intensely deep velveted maroon or mahogany red pur up to the margins excepting the lovely conspicuous veining adorning the haft.
