INTERESTING INFO:
From the 1991 Schreiner's Iris Lover's Catalog: Although not a large and boisterous flower, Vigilante's muted tones nonetheless make a powerful statement in the garden. Its flaring and ruffled falls are smoothly colored in an extremely deep silky black-maroon. Buttercup-caramel standards offer a splash of yellow. Superb stems display 8-13 flowers each from double and triple socketed buds.
