INTERESTING INFO: From the 1975 Melrose Gardens Catalog: Massive flowers with deeply fluted standards overfolding each ofther and rise into a crown of furbelows. Expansive falls (so braod they overlap at the hafts) spread out in a solid plain of color flrom the ruffled shoulders to the flowing waves of the petal edges. The color is a dense medium blue and the only contrast is the light yellow beards. Strong, upright stems are ideally ranced and carry ample buds. You should see this when it opens three well spaced flowers on a stem, which it regularly does. Those three great blossoms are something to behold. From all reports we are not the only ones who think this is the top blue iris today!
