From the 1984 Schreiner's Iris Lover's Catalog: A new rich blue which is a tribute and tests our long time loyalty to an old favorite. In many ways our PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE, is an amplified ALLEGIANCE with all the latter's charm. Yet there is more...here we have a bluer shade of coloration. The most important innovation is in flower form. The entire flower is lightly fluted alternating softly with delicate ruffles. The falls seem a cast deeper of blue-violet than the firmly domed standards. Stands out nicely with its tall branched stem that has ideal flower spacing; double socketed with 9 to 10 buds. An Iris of great noble dignity.
