INTERESTING INFO:
From the 1978 Schreiner’s Iris Lover's Catalog: Can one become embarrassed with a multitude of fine Iris in certain colors? We feel a little that way – for years we have been striving to develop a fine quality orchid-lavender. Lately our seedling crosses seem to be sprouting finer children all over. PALAIS ROYAL is both delicate and charming in the sense of classical porcelain. It greets you with its utter serenity of pure unmarred orchid-pink. Substance extra good with splendid stems.

The Palais Royal is a Paris theatre that was built in early 1600s. The theater burned down in 1763. It was rebuilt but burned down again in 1781. The area was then redeveloped into an amusement area by its owner the Duke de Chartres. It contained a number of theaters, many called the Palais Royal at various times. To this day several theaters remain in the area.
