INTERSTING INFO: From the 1942 Schreiner's Iris Lover's Catalog: Arresting because of its unusual coalition of color, the largest of all the colored yellow plicatas, it is as large or larger than Theodolinda and Wasatch, but elongated in form and has by far more rigid substance and carrying quality. Standards are subtly flecked rose with faint cinnamon markings on buff. The falls are flecked rose rioting on a deep gold-cream background with the markings mellowing to a more golden influence toward the beard. The flower is lightly ruffled, the form graceful. It recalls Orloff in range of coloring only the flower is three times its size with less brown and more rose-red in its markings. An altogether striking new plicata, resplendent and vivid.
