INTERSTING INFO: From the 1942 Schreiner's Iris Lover's Catalog: One of the most unusual plicatas developed in years and a real color break - a first in this color class since the development of the yellow ground plicatas by the Sass brothers. A magnetic, arresting flower unusual because of its unique marbling and striating of color in addition to the conventional plicating. The falls are embroidered and besprinkled mulberry to fluorite purple in a most novel manner with a bluer cast in the standards closer to royal purple on silver white background. It is the deepest color of the plicatas. Striking features, besides color and manner of coloration, are the very rigid standards and stiff, flaring falls. Very weather resistant. Medium large flowers, three well spaced branches, stiff stems; beard dull gold.
