INTERESTING INFO:
From the 1953 Schreiner's Iris Lover's Catalog: You will not stop and look once but you will probably look again at this plicata with the darkest markings, nearly as dark as Sable, on a clear white ground. Most unusual and novel. We haven't seen another like it.

Webmaster Note: There is some discrepancy whether this Iris, along with Quicksilver, was introducted in 1950 or 1953. There is no mention of it in any catalog until 1953, but it was not included in the New Introduction section of the catalog, instead appearing in the general listing. It is possible that Schreiner's was selling it locally in 1950, similar to Janice. A spokesperson from Schreiner's Iris Gardens stated that the original records at the headquarters indicated that it was registered and introduced in 1950.
