INTERESTING INFO:
From the 2016 Schreiner's Iris Lover's Catalog: Flip’s large flowers have ethereal mauve standards with more pronounced lilac etching at the petal’s ends, and the midribs. Its red-rose falls feature a light medial stripe flowing from the yellow-tipped beard. A very fine line, reflecting the lilac of the standards, outlines the falls. Flip’s bitone color combination is not new, although it can seem so. Maytime, (Whiting, 1950) was similar. Flip’s more improved form and deft coloration would bring satisfaction to our ancestors, who wrote in the catalog, “that it was the most difficult of color classes to improve.”
