From the 1977 Schreiner's Iris Lovers Catalogue: There may be a profusion of pinks, but in the quest for a standout pink variety, too many selections are very pale in coloring, or on the salmon or yellow side of the spectra. Distinctiveness because of its richer shading is not lacking in the case of FASHIONABLE PINK. Beautifully formed petals that are ruffled and fluted; the petal substance is very heavy. This utterly charming deeper full toned pink's caliber ranks it one of the best of the true flamingo-clear pink. The standards are a shade or two deeper; slight white arrow zone in the center of the falls. A direct descendant of ESTHER FAY X CHRISTMAS TIME.
