INTERSTING INFO: From the 1957 Schreiner's Iris Lover's Catalog: This vivid red self of good size and extraordinary height differs from our other red introduction of this year, Fire Brigade, in approaching red from the copper side, while Fire Brigade approaches it form the crimson-purple. Derived from (Ethiop Queen x Ranger) x (Garden Glory x Cordovan), Caldron possesses a nicely-branched stem, so scarce in reds, and exceptional vigor. We are hoping it will do well in the South where reds ordinarily do not thrive.
