INTERESTING INFO:
From the 1956 Schreiner's Iris Lover's Catalog: In this massive frosty, frilly light blue we have achieved another advance toward true blueness. Only of modest height, suggesting foreground planting, Biscay Bay reminds one of Ponder, sharing its crystallinity, but going one step farther towards eliminating that violet infusion. Hybridizers of other flowers drool over the blueness achieved in Iris. Iris fanciers, by contrast, hardly realize how rare blue flowers are in nature and how generous Nature has been to the Iris world in her glorious gift of blueness.

Biscay Bay is located on the Atlantic Ocean west of France and north of Spain. It is famous for its resorts along its coasts as well as its oysters.
