INTERESTING INFO:
From the 1959 Schreiner's Iris Lover's Catalog: Really early reds ahve been practically non-existend. Derived from two seedlings of identical parentage (Argus Pheasant x Pacemaker), Agatine is supremely smooth, trimly tailored, velvety red bi-tone. It has the same quiet haft as Trim. This is the earliest red to bloom in our fields an we recommend it as a very finished Iris filling a long-empty niche.
